i have touched down into dartmouth+halifax this week. i am here to rest in the home and light that Jesus is for me as well as in the presence of beck, my warm friend, and her main man, luke.

the air here is fresh. God has provided sunny blue skies since i stepped off the plane. luke took me on a tour of both cities yesterday and i soaked in as much culture as i could cling to. i took notes and made a list of wishes to accomplish before my departure on friday. he showed me the campuses of the schools here - they are delightful. the ocean background makes university more attractive. i wonder what it would be like to be a God-fearing student at NSCAD or the Community College, sitting at the shore, eating a sandwich, and being swept up in His glory.

halifax holds incredible gems for restaurants. the food here is tasty. hamilton could use some good places to share meals and build community. last night, i dined with beck and luke and their parents, and it brought me joy and peace. beck’s parents, uncle russ and ali, have taught me a ton over the years about caring for people. i have never met more hospitable humans. they are a crazy team, embarking on a journey each day to be Jesus’ hands and feet in their work and in their open home.

we came back to beck and luke’s place and sipped tea with pears and brownies (secret ingredient: marshmallows). russ played the role of disc jockey for the evening - i love his deep affection for music. when everyone left, i got to talk to my old pal beck for hours. i felt loved.

this morning, i watched beck, the coffee master, make kenyan coffee for luke and i. we hit the road from dartmouth to halifax and ate some breakfast at The Coastal Cafe. it was so good. then we went to antique stores and even the army surplus store to humour luke (that was a difficult place to enter into for me, but i tried to learn about grace while i was there). then we went to some galleries and to the NSCAD art supply store. then we ventured home, celebrated Pancake Tuesday, napped and read.

now we are off to luke’s family’s house for a night of tea, chatting, and games!

oh! also, my friend keets just invited me to her winnipeg wedding. bliss. and she left me with this:

keep super salty for the one who gave it all.
